35 years old bear cub living in the isle of Møn in Denmark.
Originally from the Faroe Islands and now living in Denmark, Gunnar has been a loyal Reykjavík Bear guest since 2015 (with only a couple missed years). He describes himself as kind, smiling & sometimes no filter.
Identifying as a bear cub, Gunnar is running to see if he has what it takes to be the very first Mr. Reykjavík Bear! If crowned, he wants to spread the word everywhere he goes about the Icelandic bear community and share that pride online.
He’s proud of being himself, of his marriage on the small island he calls home, and of his work. His guilty pleasure? Sneaking a cigarette when his husband isn’t looking. His dance-floor anthem: “Gasolina” by Daddy Yankee.
39 years old bear living in Reykjavík.
Born in the south of France, but living in Reykjavík for 11+ years, Höski is now fully “adopted by Iceland.” He describes himself as witty, unapologetic & overachieving.
Once a cub, now a proud bear, Höski is running for Mr. Reykjavík Bear 2025 to show every so-called misfit or “non-twink” that it’s okay to celebrate your body. His mission? To represent Reykjavík Bear proudly both locally and at major international bear events.
When he’s not volunteering with Bangsafélagið or serving as chairman of the Icelandic Rugby Union (yes, really!), you might catch him crunching radishes (his guilty pleasure) or tearing up the dance floor to “Chandelier” by Sia.
33 years old chubby bear living in Reykjavík.
Born in the north and now living in downtown Reykjavík, Jóhann describes himself as sassy, smart & kind. A proud chubby bear and active member of Bangsafélagið, he’s been volunteering with Reykjavík Bear for the past four years.
Jóhann says the bear community gave him a home he never thought he’d find – a place where he was celebrated exactly as he is. Now he’s running for Mr. Reykjavík Bear 2025 to carry that torch forward and promote acceptance, tolerance, and love.
When he’s not volunteering, you’ll find him enjoying a bowl of homemade Icelandic meat soup, sneaking in dance moves when no one’s watching, or hitting the dance floor when “King” by Years & Years comes on.
38 years old cubby bear living in Reykjavík.
Born and raised in Reykjavík, Jón Baldur says he’s somewhere between a bear and a cub. Three words that describe him: whimsical, unique & beard.
He’s running for Mr. Reykjavík Bear 2025 simply because it would be super fun to be part of the very first contest! His goal is to bring bear pride and queer visibility to as many events as he can.
From a shy “nerd” to a confident bear, he’s proud of how far he’s come. His guilty pleasure is trash TV (especially 90 Day Fiancé), and his top dance-floor tracks always include Kylie Minogue.
47 years old aging otter living in Reykjavík.
Originally from the U.S. and now living in Iceland, Patrick describes himself as kind, sexy & fun. He proudly calls himself an aging otter and is running for Mr. Reykjavík Bear 2025 as a way to challenge himself and step outside his comfort zone.
Patrick believes the world needs more bears — visible, open, and honest. If he wins, he’ll use his platform to talk about body image, acceptance, and the strength that comes from our differences.
He’s most proud of being a father, learning patience, kindness, and the importance of leading by example. His guilty pleasure is binge-watching bad apocalypse movies, and his go-to track is “Call Your Girlfriend” by Robyn.
45 years old cub living in Reykjavík.
Reykjavík local Snorri describes himself as adventurous, lost & found. He’s a cub (and growing into a bear) who has gained confidence and found his place through years of volunteering with Reykjavík Bear and Reykjavík Pride.
Running for Mr. Reykjavík Bear 2025, Snorri wants to show that bears come in all ages and sizes — and that you should never be afraid to be playful, silly, and proud of who you are.
He’s proud of helping others find their way while also finding his own confidence. His guilty pleasure is gymnastics and his dance-floor favorite is “Cha Cha Cha”.
